Description: Drainage nodes (manholes, cleanouts, headwalls, outfalls, junctions, caps and ponds) form part of the storm water management network. The attributes collected for each node are sourced from record drawings provided to the Engineering Department. This data is further enhanced by feedback provided by the Operations crews.

Description: Drainage (storm) service connections are used to show how water collected on city parcels enters the drainage network. The location of the service connections is defined by where they cross the property line (curb stop). The actual location of where the connection joins with the mainline (corp stop) is estimated. This data is maintained using record drawings provided by the Engineering Department, and enhanced by feedback from the Operations Department.

Description: Drainage (storm) catch and lawn basins are used to show how surface water within the city enters the drainage network. The location of existing catch and lawn basins were determined using Google Streetview, high-resolution orthophotos, ConnectExplorer (high resolution oblique imagery) and record drawings provided to the Engineering Department (2018 project). New catch and lawn basins are entered into the system using record drawings.

Description: Drainage (storm) catchment areas further define the drainage network within the city. Each catchment area is comprised of a single outfall and the "mainline tree" extending from it. By defining these areas, it's possible to identify which outfall is affected by water from a specific parcel within the city. This is legacy data, in that it hasn't been altered since at least 2006.
